There is much to see and do in Israel. You can spend the day on sunny white-sand beaches or exploring rocky deserts, ancient ruins, or the historical cities of Nazareth, Akko, and Tzfat. For more modern pursuits, Haifa, Eilat, and the seaside city of Tel Aviv, offer a vibrant urban view of the country. The Dead Sea is a natural wonder situated on the border between Israel and Jordan. With a higher mineral and salt content than any other body of water in the world, it is easy to float on top of the sea and these natural properties have made it the perfect location for spa and relaxation resorts. Israel offers many Kosher and non-Kosher restaurants throughout the country. Several food specialties include Shishlik – grilled meat kabobs, Falafel – deep fried balls of chickpeas and herbs, often served in pita bread with hummus and a sesame seed sauce known as tahini.

Israel’s main international airport is Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion International Airport. It is situated 40 km (25 miles) from Jerusalem and 12 km (7 miles) from Tel Aviv. Public transportation in Israel is efficient and inexpensive and includes taxi, bus, and train. The national bus company, Egged, has many routes running across Israel connecting the country’s cities.
